Homemade Moisturizer for Face

Many expensive moisturizers on the market claim that their products can heal certain skin conditions like photo damage, loss of collagen, age and wrinkles, but have very little evidence to support their claims. The actual effective compounds in these products are in fact very inexpensive.

Some moisturizers made by the cosmetic industry can actually aggravate certain skin conditions or cause itching, burning, redness and even dehydration of the skin. These products contain artificial colors, petroleum and harsh preservatives which can cause more harm than good.

Avocado butter

Avocado butter which is omega-fatty rich, and a great natural remedy for dry skin, made from the flesh of the avocado it is extremely homemade moisturizing for the skin and hair.  It is a heavy butter that is affordable to use as you only need a little of it to go a long moisturizing way!!

Ground Oats

Oats are known for their exfoliating properties. It helps to remove dead skin and dirt that covers your healthy skin making it seem dull. First, mash the banana using a fork. Add all the ingredients and mix until it has a uniform consistency. If its too thick you can add a tbsp of milk. Apply this all over your face and neck using your hands. Let it sit for 15- 20 minutes. Now, rinse with warm water.

Honey 

Honey is antibacterial, antifungal and a natural humectant, which means it draws moisture from its surrounding and is a great moisturizer as it has the ability to  retain the water, also known to fight skin damage.  Rich and smooth in soaps.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has a tonic action that promotes blood circulation in the small capillaries that irrigate the skin. It can also dissolve excessive fatty deposits at the surface of the skin and reduce scaly or peeling conditions

Sweet Almond Oil

Sweet Almond Oil is rich in vitamins A,D, E and contains linoleic and oleic acids. Natural emollient and moisturizer. Great oil choice for dry skin, cracking skin and skin just stressed from the dry elements of winter.
